Description

FUJIFILM XF 23mm F1.4 R Lens

The FUJINON XF23mmF1.4 R is a premium wide-angle lens that is ideal for a variety of photographic styles, including landscape, street and documentary photography. In fact, many X Series users choose this as their go-to standard lens.

This is no surprise as it delivers high-quality images at every aperture setting, while the maximum aperture of F1.4 comes into its own when the light levels start to drop, and you want to keep shooting without a tripod.

Push/pull manual focusing ring If you like to regularly switch between manual and autofocusing, the XF23mmF1.4 R has the perfect control to do so quickly and easily. The manual focusing ring smoothly slides forwards and backwards; slide backwards to reveal the focusing distance scale and focus manually, push forwards to switch back to autofocus.

Distance and depth-of-field scales Photographers often want to maximise depth-of-field when shooting with a wide-angle lens, and for this reason the distance and depth-of-field scales etched on the barrel of the XF23mmF1.4 R are invaluable. At a glance you can see what will and won’t be in focus using any given aperture and focusing distance. This is also handy when pre-focusing for street/documentary work.

Fast F1.4 aperture The lens’s F1.4 maximum aperture gives photographers a great deal of versatility. Use it to reduce the need to switch to a tripod or other form of support in low light, or to help subjects to stand out from their background by providing a very shallow depth-of-field. The aperture ring on the XF23mmF1.4 R is also click-stopped in one-third stop steps for precise exposure adjustment.

Rounded aperture diaphragm Seven metal blades with rounded edges make up the aperture inside the XF23mmF1.4 R. The rounded edges make for sharper images and smoother bokeh (out-of-focus highlights), plus the seven blades combine to create an almost circular aperture opening. This means highlights are rendered as circles rather than as hexagons.
